Selecting Columns to Integrate or Display

In step two you will select which columns (variables) within each data table that you want to either integrate or display.  In tDAR "integrate" means that you want to make a 1 to 1 comparison of the entries in that column (e.g. you would like to use the specific species that of interest to your research or perhaps would like to only see items that were entered as being screened by a 1/8 inch screen).   When selecting a "display" variable, on the other hand, no aggregation or grouping will be possible, tDAR will output the data as it appears in each data table.

Adding an Integration Column

To add an integration column click on the "add integration column" button in the "1. Choose an action below" area of your screen.

2. Select Columns to Integrate: once you have clicked on the "add integration column button", the screen will change and now show an area that will allow you to "select a column" to integrate within each data table you initially selected.

In order for the integration columns to work properly they must be attached and mapped to an ontology (or coding sheet if the variables have been coded).  The mapping is done from the metadata page for that resource and you must have user write access in order to do so.  For more information on mapping columns within a dataset please click on one of the links below:
